Initial Review and Plan:

Designed from Scratch Concepts (DFSC) is not a typical graphic design, website building, or any other type of “one and done” marketing material company. Instead, DFSC works alongside the client and their company as an outside consultant for all of the client's branding/marketing needs. Along with either creating the actual marketing materials or finding resources to create them, DFSC will also provide education on how to properly use all created marketing materials.

During the initial meeting, DFSC and the client will determine a timeline of projects and strategies that will help the client's business to look more professional as well as give the client the tactics to track and maintain growth. The creation of these marketing materials will be organized into projects that either the client or DFSC will need to complete according to a timeline that the client and DFSC will agree to. All of the projects in this plan are subject to adjustment, and can be moved into a different segment of the timeline. This new placement can be suggested by either party, client or DFSC, but must be signed and agreed upon by both.

When the time comes to produce an agreed upon project DFSC will give the client an estimated quote based on the hourly rate of $80 and the number of hours that DFSC believes it will take to create the project. If the quote is above $1000 then DFSC will require a 10% down payment before work can proceed. Once work begins DFSC, depending on the job details, will either store the client's unfinished project on the DFSC server for viewing or provide small watermarked samples to the client. DFSC will upload or send new changes at the end of each day (when applicable) that the project has been updated, and the client may request to view the current version at any time if there is something that the client would like to review. Should the client not be satisfied for any reason then the deposit is refundable, but only if the client has not yet signed the final approval.

DFSC will include two free revisions on each project so that the client is free to make changes without worry that the original price will over inflate. It is possible that the client could choose to make more revisions than just the two free ones. If that happens DFSC may choose to add to the cost at a rate of $40 for every 30 minutes. The client will not be charged for any mistakes/changes that DFSC may have missed before final approval. The client will also not be charged for work that occupies less than 30 minutes in a two week period.

When the project is approved by the client, DFSC will send over a document for final approval which is attached with an invoice for the full payment. The final approval states that the client has checked all materials connected with this project thoroughly and that they are free of mistakes and/or typos. Any inconsistencies that are found after the final approval is signed are no longer the responsibility of DFSC. The final approval must be signed and payment for the remaining balance must be sent before the final version of the requested items will be uploaded, sent to print, or provided in some other way. DFSC will also accept payments in installments if needed, but the materials will not be delivered until the project has been paid for in full. Once the full/final payment has been submitted DFSC will then deliver all digital materials over to the client via a Dropbox link. The Dropbox folder will contain all files including the ones used to create the project, even if they are not accessible due to the client not owning the proper software. DFSC will also keep backups of these files should the client need them. Should the business relationship with the client cease for any reason then these materials will remain on the DFSC file system for 24 months at which point they will be removed.

DFSC does not perform any of the printing, hosting, or any other type of finalizing of the created project. That responsibility falls on the client to provide for themselves. However, should the client not have any resources to provide these services for themselves then DFSC is able to refer the service at no additional charge. Should the client feel uncomfortable setting up certain aspects of these projects then DFSC may assist at an additional charge (see setup help).

Client agrees to not involve outside designers, content creators, or any other creative enterprises without the knowledge and consent of DFSC. Should additional content or changes to the current marketing materials be needed the client agrees to discuss these changes with DFSC. Excluding DFSC may result in the cancelation of services by DFSC.

Name Creation Session:

Designed from Scratch Concepts will sit down and help the client create a memorable and unique name. Each $120 session runs 1-1/2 hours and consists of a brainstorming session, research into the name to see if a similar name exists, if a trademark is filed, and if the domain/web address is available. The brainstorming session involves writing down anything that comes to mind, good or bad, and then eliminating ideas that do not work. Once the names have been narrowed down to around 5, DFSC will research the remaining names to make sure that each choice is available. After that DFSC and the client will choose the best one. The session may also involve helping the client to purchase a web domain. DFSC does not help with the filing of an LLC but can refer the process out to a few companies that do. It is possible that the meeting could run past the allotted time. If that happens DFSC may choose to add to the cost of the session at a rate of $40 for every 30 minutes past the initial end time, or schedule more time at a later date.

Strategy Session:

Designed from Scratch Concepts will sit down and review the client's marketing materials. Each $120 session runs 1-1/2 hours. During this meeting, DFSC will review all materials presented, listen to or watch the client's pitch/PowerPoint, and give feedback. All feedback that is presented is meant only as information and it is up to the client whether or not to continue with DFSC's further marketing material creation after that. It is possible that the meeting could run past the allotted time. If that happens DFSC may choose to add to the cost of the session at a rate of $40 for every 30 minutes past the initial end time, or schedule more time at a later date.

Setup Help:

Designed from Scratch Concepts will work with the client to help them set up various pieces of their brand such as establishing an email account(s), helping to purchase a domain name and hosting, or anything else that the client might need. Each $80 session runs 1 hour. It is possible that the meeting could run past the allotted time. If that happens DFSC may choose to add to the cost of the session at a rate of $40 for every 30 minutes past the initial end time, or schedule more time at a later date.

Instead, the idea will be based on what the client describes to DFSC. DFSC will then do research to find out if what was discussed, or anything similar, already exists and then will start the first draft to share with the client. DFSC may include an offer of a business card design to be included at no extra charge with the creation of the logo. The included business card design quote of $0 will not include the cost of photography, such as headshots or similar things.
